Cardi B's #1 'WAP' was recorded in 2019
As her recording engineer Brunson tells it, Cardi had recorded the main refrain of "WAP" a year back before putting it aside to deal with other music. After the COVID-19 pandemic successfully shut down the unrecorded music industry, Cardi picked the tune back up while remaining in a house in California with Brunson and others. All there was to do was sort through thoughts. "We had that melody since a year ago. Since COVID-19 occurred, we were going over melodies, and she resembled, 'I like this,' Brunson said in the meeting. "She got the vibe again and laid the subsequent stanza down."
Megan got included April or May, on account of a tip from Cardi's beautician, who acquainted her with Meg's beautician. When they associated, they concluded "WAP" — a couple of months after the fact, it sits at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 outline. What's more, Cardi's not done at this point. Both the tunes are actually her experience the extent that parenthood, being on the shows, needing to return, marriage, media pressure on her family, she makes it extremely close to personal."
